Homemade Bean burger served with MamaBear ketchup

Ingredients:

(serves 4-6)

For the Burger:

2 tins of red kidney bins – drained well

1 clove of garlic, crushed

2 tablespoons of milled chia seeds

1 teaspoon of dried, ground, coriander

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper

Veg stock cube

1 egg

100g of breadcrumbs or oats

Toppings of choice (lettuce, tomato…)

Brioche or wholemeal bun o

Instructions

Place all the ingredients into a blender and blitz.

Or mash in a bowl using a potato masher.

The consistency should be moist but not wet.

Add more oats/breadcrumbs or a pinch of flour if it is too wet or more water if it is too dry.

The consistency should be that it holds it’s shape.

Divide the mixture into 6, then wet your hands and shape into burgers.

To oven cook, place on a non-stick baking tray and grill for 4-5 mins on each side until golden and crisp.

To fry, heat a pan and when it is hot place the burger patties onto the pan and fry.

Serve on a brioche or wholemeal bun with lettuce, tomato and MamaBear ketchup.
